Bishop Osei-Bonsu Visits Cincinnati, Ohio

The Rt. Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu, the Bishop of the Konongo-Mampong, Diocese in the Ashanti Region of Ghana on September 14, 2008 celebrated a High Mass in Cincinnati, Ohio with the Ghanaian Catholic Community in the Greater Cincinnati Ohio area. Ghanaian Catholics in Dayton, Ohio and Columbus Ohio, joined their brothers and sisters in Cincinnati, Ohio for the High Mass.

During the homily, Bishop Osei-Bonsu reminded the congregation to be mindful of their baptismal vows and always lead lives that are worthy of the call of Christ and the teachings of the Church. He told the congregation that Christ died to open the Gates of Heaven to all and so there was no need for any of us to stray from the "narrow path" that leads to Heaven.

He said as Christians, we are likely to face temptations in life but with the Cross on our side, we must always rest assured that we can always scale any hurdles in our way if and only if we follow what the Church teaches us. Bishop Osei-Bonsu was assisted by Rev. John Amankwah and Rev. Godfried Boakye-Yiadom. Among the congregation was Fr. Andy Amoakohene. Nana Adwoa was the “lead” mass server.

The Bishop blessed Nana Senti Nyame I of Cincinnati, the Catholic Women’s Group, and the newly acquired musical instruments.
